BlackBerry Q5, Lytro Light Field Camera and 3 more gadgets of the week

Known for its tendency to find its own ways, BlackBerry even approached the creation of the inexpensive Q5 smartphone with its own patterns. In general, it did not turn out to be a budget one - you can buy it for about 17 thousand rubles.

Of course, the phones of the Canadian company have never been cheap, but they were offered, first of all, to business users, unlike the bright Q5. Against the background of the "senior" Q10, also running the new OS version 10 and having a similar QWERTY keyboard, the new product looks modest. The reason for this is mainly the plastic case (in practice, however, withstanding a blow to the floor). The filling is more in line with the price tag: dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4, 2 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage. The screen is also good, despite the fact that it is a cheap LCD, not AMOLED. In principle, it is a typical smartphone of the middle price range.

Of course, BlackBerry 10 users continue to suffer event planner email database list from a lack of trendy apps like Instagram, and some are experimenting with installing Android versions (which isn't too difficult and doesn't void the warranty). It's hard to say whether the Q5 will help BlackBerry grow its market share, although there really aren't many smartphones with a hardware keyboard.

Galaxy S4 Zoom

Once upon a time, the appearance of Instagram for Android caused a storm of indignation among experienced users of the social network: many "robotic" devices did not differ in high quality of photography (compared to the iPhone). Samsung decided once again after the Galaxy Camera to throw not just a stone, but a huge boulder at the fans of iPhoneography. A full-fledged digital "point-and-shoot" was implemented in the Galaxy S4 smartphone (although rather in the S4 mini, if you compare the characteristics).

From the front, the device looks quite ordinary, from the side - suspicious, and with the lens extended it differs little from a compact digital camera. If desired, the smartphone can even be put in a trouser pocket. The quality of the shooting is not bad for a smartphone or a budget digital "point-and-shoot", you should not expect a miracle. The confusing thing is that this is still a phone and the camera does not come to life with a light press on the shutter, as is the case with many cameras. In addition, applications like Instagram do not allow you to use the zoom and hardware shutter button. The solution, alas, is still too much of a compromise. The price of the issue is 20 thousand rubles.
