The Core Concept: Defending a Sacred Objective

Post by Rojone100 »

At the heart of these events lies a simple yet powerful concept: protect the objective at all costs. This objective might be:

A holy altar imbued with magical power

A venerable NPC priestess delivering a ritual

A crystal relic channeling energy to keep a zone safe

Or a base structure that holds strategic value in PvP

Regardless of the form, the gameplay hinges on fending off escalating waves of monsters, and in some events, enemy players who aim to sabotage the defenders’ efforts.

These events can be either PvE-focused, where AI-controlled monsters are the frist database sole threat, or PvPvE, combining monsters and rival player factions. In both cases, teamwork, coordination, and preparation are vital to success.

Structure of a Typical Defense Event
Defense events follow a wave-based format, typically divided into timed phases:

Preparation Phase
Players gather, buff up, and position themselves strategically around the sacred target. Defensive structures like turrets, barriers, or traps may be placed, if available.

Monster Wave Phase
Hordes of enemies spawn in waves. Early waves consist of low-tier enemies, testing positioning and readiness. As time progresses, elite monsters, bosses, and special units with debuffs or splash attacks join the fray.

Invasion Phase (Optional PvP)
In PvPvE events, opposing guilds or factions may launch attacks during later waves. This transforms the event into a multi-layered battlefield where players must split forces—some defending against monsters, others fending off enemy players.
