Facebook is eager to cash in on WhatsApp. And for good reason. Facebook lost a whopping $120 billion in value , as country email list revenues fell $13.2 billion short of expectations. The number of daily active users in Europe also dropped by 3 million. Add to that concerns about privacy and data abuse and you have an explanation for the app’s weakened position.

For a long time it was unknown how money would be made, but it is clear that it was high time. And then there was WhatsApp Business! From the beginning it was communicated that the business app would be temporarily free to use. And that eventually people would have to pay for its use. And that is now going to happen. According to Techcrunch , WhatsApp will ask large companies for a fee per response if the first message was sent more than 24 hours ago. This would cost around five to nine dollar cents per message.
