Starting your own business is a solution to combat unemployment. So, if you can't find opportunities in the job market, you can create your own job. We've listed the support you can use to create your own job or company and some tips to help you start your business quickly and on the road to success!

Depending on your professional situation, you can access a range of support for entrepreneurship and creating your own job: advance payment of unemployment benefits, microcredits, support for investment and business creation, among others.

IEFP Support for Self-Employment Creation

Who can access IEFP Support
To apply for this support from the Institute of Employment and Vocational Training (IEFP) you must meet the following criteria:

The amount of unemployment benefits may be applied to the acquisition of an establishment by transfer or to the acquisition of share capital of a pre-existing company that results in, at least, the creation of full-time employment for the recipient promoter.
The value of unemployment benefits can only finance the increase in share capital and cannot finance the acquisition of existing shares;
The project must demonstrate economic and financial viability.
How to apply for IEFP support
The process begins with the submission of a project that employs at least one person. Once approved, the unemployment benefit is paid in one lump sum (minus any amounts already received).

With the aim of creating jobs and boosting local economies, this support allows the establishment of small businesses.

Who can access Business Creation Support?
If you are registered with IEFP and meet one of these conditions, you are eligible for this support:

Involuntarily unemployed for nine months or less;
Unemployed for more than nine months, regardless of the reason for registration;
Looking for their first job, aged between 18 and 35, with secondary education or level 3 qualification;
Who have never carried out professional activity for someone else or on their own;
Self-employed workers with an average monthly income lower than the guaranteed minimum monthly wage.
